About Me

Born in Canada with an Uncle who served with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, a love of horses was built into my DNA. After receiving my Masters Degree and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, I moved to Florida and opened my private practice in 1980 as a Florida Licensed Psychologist (2696) and became a Continuing Education Provider in Hypnosis from 1996 to 2000. I was certified as an approved consultant by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and have utilized hypnotherapy for treatment of problems ranging from habit control and interpersonal skills to specifically developed trances for patients with cancer or chronic pain.

Over the years, I have presented papers nationally and internationally on a variety of topics, as well as appearances on radio, television and in the press.

After many years in a thriving suburban practice, I discovered Equine Assisted Psyctrotherapy and subsequently bought a ranch in Brooksville in 2002, which I called the White Light Ranch.Owning a twenty acre horse ranch and beginning to do breeding, there was a very steep learning curve.  I was at the ranch during the horrible year of hurricanes in 2005. I had to put beloved horses and pets down. I fought off cottonmouth snakes and wild boars, as well as a panther.

While I developed the Healing with Horses Program implementing equine assisted psychotherapy for a wide variety of clinical issues from PTSD to autism. After 13 years of practicing Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, I decided it was time to downsize and move to Georgia. During my trip to Atlanta in January of 2015, I received Life Coach Certification through the Life Coach lnstitute of Orange County. ln August 2016 I became a Licensed Psychologist (#4041) in Georgia.

As life goes on I continue to learn and grow. I went from a strict behavioral scientist to a larger understanding of the universe based on the unconscious mind and the principles of physics.

This is the inspiration that I bring to my clients. Patients will ask me if they are too old to change and my response is ” Are you still breathing?

Coincidentally or not, I am currently working on a book called, “It’s Not Too Late!”
